Life’s Fuel: Understanding Your Personal Energy Sources

Where do you get the energy for daily life?

Where does your energy originate? Each individual draws strength from various sources: it could be wealth, recognition, children, family, exercise, success, reputation, personal satisfaction, among others. The wellspring of energy is as diverse as humanity itself. Understanding your source of energy can be transformative. It’s akin to discovering a hidden wellspring within, capable of rejuvenating and guiding you.

In our journey through life, we often find ourselves asking, “What truly powers us through each day?” For me, as a mother of six and juggling the care of a brave child with a rare genetic condition who depends on the trach and vent machine for 24hr and 7days, a full-time job, doctoral studies, and community leadership, this question is not just philosophical but deeply personal.

What make me keep moving?

How do I keep going amidst such demands? The answer is both simple and profound: it’s about embracing life as it is, with all its imperfections, and finding strength in something greater than myself. My husband’s constant support is a pillar of our family life, helping us to focus on the journey rather than seeking perfection in every aspect of life.

But beyond the physical world, my energy comes from a deeper place – a connection with something higher, which you might call God, the Universe, or another name that resonates with you, I called “Divine or Abba father” .This isn’t about rituals or physical pilgrimages; it’s about aligning my mind, body, and spirit to be in harmony, ready to receive and embrace a greater connection.

Connection with Divine.

This connection goes beyond words. It’s like a language without speech, where understanding and feelings transmit directly, without the need for articulation. It’s about tuning in on a level that transcends our everyday communication.

When I reflect on what keeps me going, it’s clear that this connection is my life’s charger. It rejuvenates me when I feel depleted, guiding and strengthening me to face any challenge. This awareness and connection are not just helpful but essential. They are the hidden power source that keeps the machinery of my life running smoothly, even in the face of overwhelming odds.

How to connect ..

In the journey of connection with the divine, the most pivotal attitude I embrace is that of surrender. This entails opening myself up, unreservedly, to receive whatever energy the divine sends my way. This process often introduces me to energies that are unfamiliar, perhaps even completely alien to my prior experiences. Yet, I choose to accept and store these energies, postponing contemplation for a later time.

For me, establishing this connection necessitates an acknowledgment of my own limitations. It involves a profound realization that the scope of human understanding and knowledge, including my own, is inherently finite. There is an acceptance that much of what we perceive as knowledge may be illusory or transient, akin to the fleeting, often commercialized joy of Christmas.

What does surrender mean..

This mindset shifts the focus from trying to control or predict the nature of the divine energy to simply being present and receptive. It’s about trusting the process, acknowledging that there are greater forces at play beyond our immediate understanding. In this space of surrender, I find the truest form of connection, one that recharges and guides me, lending a clarity and purpose that transcends the ordinary confines of human thought and experience.

Example ..

The observance of December 25th as Christmas, widely recognized as the birth of Jesus Christ, is a topic steeped in both historical and cultural complexities. It is a widely acknowledged fact among scholars that this date is not the actual birthday of Jesus. Instead, it aligns with ancient Roman sun rituals, a connection often attributed to political motives aimed at facilitating the spread of Christianity during the Roman era. The government, seeking to establish policies that would encourage the acceptance of Christianity, strategically chose this date for its pre-existing cultural significance.

However, the underlying importance of Christmas transcends these historical origins. It serves as a time to remember and reflect upon the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. In this sense, the exact date becomes secondary to the deeper significance of the occasion. Therefore, while I harbor no opposition towards celebrating Christmas, there is an occasional sense of awkwardness in realizing that much of the world might be unwittingly perpetuating a historical inaccuracy.

Apply to the other ..

This realization that Christmas, like many other traditions, may not be grounded in factual history, brings to light a broader perspective. It highlights our limitations and the inherent fallibility of human knowledge and tradition. Yet, it is precisely this awareness of our limitations and vulnerabilities that kindles the desire to connect with the divine.

Power of Connection..

This connection is more than a mere belief; it is an existential necessity for me. Without it, life becomes overwhelmingly burdensome, transforming from a journey of joy to a mere obligation. I confess that without this divine connection, even the simplest of tasks, like eating, becomes arduous. The weight of existence presses down, making every aspect of life feel heavy and onerous. It is in this connection with the divine that I find the strength and lightness to navigate the complexities of life, transforming obligations back into joyous expressions of being.

How about you?

Where does your energy originate? Each individual draws strength from various sources: it could be wealth, recognition, children, family, exercise, success, reputation, personal satisfaction, among others. The wellspring of energy is as diverse as humanity itself. For me, the source of my vitality is an unwavering connection with the Divine.

I invite you to pause and contemplate your own source of energy. Reflect on what truly fuels your spirit and propels you through life’s challenges and triumphs. Is it the love of your family, the satisfaction from your career, the joy of achieving personal goals, or perhaps something entirely different?

This introspection is not just a casual pondering, but a vital exploration to understand what lies at the core of your existence. Identifying this source can bring clarity to your actions and decisions, aligning them with what genuinely matters to you. It’s about recognizing and embracing that unique force that sustains you, be it spiritual, emotional, or physical.

Understanding your source of energy can be transformative. It’s akin to discovering a hidden wellspring within, capable of rejuvenating and guiding you. So, take a moment, delve deep within, and ask yourself: ‘Where does my energy come from?'”
