Good Bye.. My dearest actor, Sun-kyun Lee, Jimmy.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences for the loss of actor Lee. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. His legacy and the joy he brought to so many will not be forgotten.

In my quiet afternoon, the news of actor Lee’s passing, shared by a friend, struck me with an unexpected force. As a shaman, my spirit had been in turmoil since his drug allegations surfaced in October 2023. Deep in my heart, I had fervently hoped he would weather this fierce storm in his life.

The weight of this news felt heavy in my chest. I can still vividly recall the trajectory of his career, how he blossomed from an unrecognized talent into a star. His role in “Coffee Prince 1” was a turning point, a moment that defined his path in the world of Korean drama. Before that, he had spent years in the shadows, his potential and talent unseen and unsung.

in October 2023, news broke of a scandal involving him and drug allegations. The Korean media and public reaction were ferociously judgmental, seemingly unconcerned with his family or personal life. Surprisingly, despite several investigations, the police found no concrete evidence of his alleged drug use.

The power of YouTube channels and media in swaying public opinion is frightening. It’s disheartening to see how quickly and ruthlessly a life can be torn apart, reduced to nothing more than a piece of paper in the wind. As a professional in shamanic human strategy, I felt compelled to support him. I used my own YouTube channel to express my thoughts on the harsh treatment he received. Yet, compared to what he must be enduring, my support felt insignificant.

This situation has weighed heavily on my heart. While I don’t know him personally, I deeply respect his work and his growth as an actor. It’s a moment for all of us to reflect on how we treat others, both directly and indirectly. We’re quick to celebrate success but often overlook the struggles and darker moments.

I choose not to dwell on the allegations against Lee. Who are we to judge another’s life? He hasn’t committed a heinous crime, harmed others, or damaged community assets. Yet, he’s been vilified, his career and personal life nearly ruined over unproven accusations. We all have weaknesses; imagine being attacked at your lowest point and having those moments define you in the public eye. It feels like bullying on a massive scale.

What happened to Sun kyun Lee (or Jimmy, as I fondly think of him) is emblematic of a larger problem in our collective culture. At this moment, I wish nothing more than to be there for him, to hold his hand and share in his sorrow.

Pascal once said that humans are ‘thinking reeds’ – fragile yet capable of profound thought. We shouldn’t judge our weaknesses but rather support each other in times of need. I can’t begin to imagine the stress and isolation Lee must feel, bullied by an entire nation. Where can he turn for solace?

My hope is that the tragedy he’s endured won’t be in vain and that it brings about some reflection and change within the Korean community.
