Creator mindset Blocker 1.1

Individual Perspectives

Creator Mindset plays a pivotal role in leading a fulfilling life. Learn why confidence is so crucial and why valuing the journey over results can reshape your worldview.

A creator mindset is essential to lead a fulfilling life. A lack of self-confidence can certainly be a barrier.

What is blocking us ?

Why do we sometimes not think like creators? An earlier article mentioned the role of society and history. Today, let’s focus on us, the individual. There isn’t just one simple answer to this. However, a big reason is that many of us lack self-confidence. Not believing in ourselves can stop us from having a creative mindset. Why don’t we fully believe in our abilities to shape our own lives?

Self confidence

Being confident in ourselves can make our lives feel more complete and happy. Many studies show that if we believe in ourselves, we feel better about who we are. Confidence means believing we can do things and make choices every day. If we don’t have much confidence, it can change how we see ourselves.

So, what things help us build confidence? Research says that people who have many good experiences usually believe in themselves more. When people feel accepted and valued by others, it helps them be more confident too. On the other hand, negative experiences can make people less sure of themselves.

Perspectives toward life are matter..

So, how can we have more good experiences to build our confidence? Thinking positively and learning how to handle problems are important. But at the heart of it all, it’s about how we see life. Another words, the matter is that How we see our lives. We should focus on the journey and the steps we take, not just the end goal.

Result oriented vs processing oriented

Some people focus on the end result, while others enjoy the journey or process. We often focus too much on the end results in life. If we only look at outcomes, then our efforts might seem meaningless. We start to judge ourselves by success or failure. But who gets to decide what’s a success or failure in our lives? By what standards? Is it money? Performance? I don’t believe these things truly measure the value of our lives. I strongly disagree with that view.

My story

I might not have a lot of money, a prestigious title, or a thick checkbook. My husband doesn’t either. But we both believe that we have rich and fulfilling lives. We have six children, and one of them has a rare genetic disease called Pompe disease. She requires round-the-clock care with a ventilator and is bedbound pateint. Because of her complex medical needs, neither of us can work regular full-time jobs or earn high salaries. On paper, our resources might look limited, but our life feels full and abundant. Many times, my husband and I have said we feel like millionaires. So, our bank balance doesn’t reflect the true richness of our lives.

What tricks?

There are many reasons we feel so fulfilled in our lives. One key reason is that we do things we’re passionate about, no matter how small they seem. For instance, we wanted to try growing fruit trees indoors. We did, and we were able to harvest limes. Not all our attempts were successful; some trees didn’t bear fruit, and some died. But these experiences fueled our curiosity and gave us small joys in our daily life. Each attempt added to our knowledge and encouraged us to try new things.

We didn’t focus much on the end results. Instead, we enjoyed the process. Caring for our sick child at home 24/7, with limited outings and little sleep, is very challenging. So, we learned to find joy in small moments, especially when things felt really tough. These small steps and moments naturally shaped our way of life.

One important lesson we’ve learned through our journey with our sick child, Eury, is that we’re not caring for her just for the best outcome. Instead, we’re caring for her so we can enjoy our time with her as much as possible.

Thoughts

From these personal experiences and my professional knowledge, I’ve concluded that we shouldn’t focus too much on the end results in life. In reality, there is no final result; it’s all a continuous process.

When you see life as a journey full of steps, everything becomes an opportunity. It feels like life offers many chances to learn and grow. But if you only focus on the end results, then everything can feel like a heavy responsibility. Thoughts like ‘What if I fail?’ become big worries even before you start.

Therefore, if we view life too much based on results, we can easily label ourselves as failures or successes.

Here’s an idea: Write down something you really want to try. It doesn’t have to be a big thing; it can be something small. Think about what you’ve wanted to do but haven’t because you thought it wasn’t important, or you were too busy, or maybe you were scared of failing. Choose a small thing and give it a go

A creator mindset is essential to lead a fulfilling life. A lack of self-confidence can certainly be a barrier.
